The 1985 event was highly notable for its grueling conditions. The morning of the concert featured major traffic jams on I-30, and fans endured extreme heat and humidity while waiting in long security lines. Dallas police and security screened attendees, and approximately 250 medical personnel treated hundreds of fans for heat-related illnesses. Despite the sweltering temperatures, the festival was a commercial success, with promoters reportedly selling over $500,000 in souvenirs and merchandise.Ā
